About this event

Welcome to DTP: Denver, Colorado
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A VIRTUAL MEETING

Welcome to the Divorce Transition Professionals (DTP)

DTP was founded in 2017. Our primary Mission Statement that still holds true today is:

Making Divorce Just a Little Bit Easier™

We believe that this can be accomplished by bringing together amazing professionals all of whom have expertise in the divorce landscape and all of whom understand what it means to collaborate.

At each chapter meeting we bring you a top-notch speaker or program, providing on-going education, and an opportunity to network and collaborate with some of the best divorce professionals in your community. Our meetings are typically an hour. We respect that you are a busy professional and are sure to provide a compelling, productive meeting, the ultimate results of which will meet our goal of supporting folks as they go through divorce and in growing your business, concurrently.

This event is completely free to all FIRST-TIME attendees. It is an opportunity to learn more about the Divorce Transition Professionals. If you are a professional with divorce expertise, please check us out.

There is nothing like DTP!

This Month's Program

Mike Wakshull

I earned a graduate school certificate in forensic document examination from East Tennessee State University. This four-semester certificate program is offered within the Graduate School of Criminal Justice.

I am a certified quality engineer by the American Society for Quality. College degrees are a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the State College of New York at Buffalo, and a Master of Science degree in technology management from the University of Denver.

For continuing education, I attend at least two conferences each year in forensics and/or forensic document examination. I have attend educational meetings at the Forensic Expert Witness Association. I am past president of the San Diego and represented the San Diego Chapter on the national board of directors and was conference chair for the 2015 conference.

As a member of the National Association of Document Examiners I was conference chair for the 2012 conference. I have spoken at several of their conferences, including the 2018 conference in Jacksonville, FL. I am vice president of Scientific Association of Forensic Examiners. I have been an invited speaker at many international, national, and local forensics and legal conferences including California Lawyers Association and California District Attorneys Association. I have authored three books on forensic document examination and have written articles published in journals and legal magazines. These presentations and publications are listed in Exhibit 4.

As a forensic document examiner, I have been qualified to testify in California Superior Court and Federal District Court. Cases have been worked from twenty-three states and four countries. Upon challenge from opposing counsel the Court has always declared I am qualified to testify at trial.

Before attending graduate school for forensic document examination, I worked for 30 years in information systems and software development. In the 1980s and 1990s I founded and ran a computer graphics software company that developed interactive graphics software for VAX computers.

Subsequent to that I managed information systems governance (called policies and standards) at Amgen, the largest biotechnology company.

In 1999 I earned an information systems audit certification (CISA) from information systems audit and control association (ISACA). This certification remains active.

I have worked full time as a forensic document examiner since January, 2012. From the time I completed the graduate program in forensic document examination in the Graduate School of Criminal Justice at East Tennessee State University in 2010 until January 2012 I worked part time as a forensic document examiner and full time add Abbott Vascular leading implementation of global quality risk management procedures.
