This Month's Program

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Our program this month is VERY IMPORTANT
October is designated as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

  • 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner.

  • Every minute, 20 men and women are physically abused by an intimate partner.  That means there are nearly 10 million accounts of domestic or partner violence each year.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we shall have a guest speaker, Matthew Breddan.  Matthew is the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Haven Hills Domestic Violence Agency.  The organization’s goal is to lift up survivors of domestic violence, transform their lives, and foster famil and community relationships rooted in equality and mutual respect.  Matthew is also a Shareholder at The Reape-Rickett Law Firm, and has practiced family law for over twenty-five years.

In addition,

  • I will be sharing additional information providing further education on Domestic Violence and its impact.

  • We will turn on the spotlight on Suzanne Altman and our newest member, Esther Bitar. We will look forward to learning more about each of them as we allow them to SHINE.

  • We will also recognize Janey Bishop who will be celebrating her birthday on October 12.

  • Of course, we will want you to share testimonials and shout outs, recognizing those who have provided services on your behalf to your clients or others.  Be prepared to share!!!
