This Month's Program

Teresa Harlow

Description: Parents that arrive with a negative mindset to mediation or a parent planning session can sabotage efforts before they even get going. In this interactive workshop, bestselling author, speaker, and co-parent coach, Teresa Harlow shares her four steps that will help your clients shift their focus from combative to collaborative right from the beginning. She’ll also demonstrate her Cards WITH Humanity™ game used to help parents remember and practice applying her 4-step formula. It’s simple, memorable, and even fun!
Teresa’s formula is based on three decades of business and personal experience. Details and reference materials can be found in her bestselling book Combative to Collaborative: The Co-parenting Code, endorsed by Dr. Gary Chapman, author of The 5 Love Languages, Jack Canfield – coauthor of Chicken soup for the Soul, and many family health and law professionals.

Benefits to Attendees

This presentation provides family lawyers, mediators, therapists, and parent coaches with a system they can use with clients to help them adopt a collaborative mindset before they begin mediation or negotiation sessions with a co-parent. Additionally, professionals that learn to apply this 4-Step formula will be armed with the ability to redirect combative interactions to more collaborative exchanges when tensions flare.
Learning Objectives
1. Learn the 4 steps to transform a combative interaction into a productive conversation
2. Learn how to demonstrate the 4-Step C2C Formula using the Cards With Humanity™ game
3. Audience Activity, facilitated by Teresa – Practice applying the 4 Step C2C Formula using Cards with Humanity (virtual) flashcards and Zoom polling function.

Structure and Methodology

A variety of professional speaking techniques will be employed with audience members during the presentation to demonstrate the concepts and provoke interaction. Additionally, participants will practice applying the concepts leveraging virtual interaction tools to ensure they firmly grasp implementing them in their practices later. Verbal, visual, and experiential techniques will be leveraged throughout the presentation to explain the concepts and reach all types of learners.
