Our January DTP meeting speaker is Bob Glatt, President, Glatt and Associates, LLC.
Now in his 35th year as a consulting CFO, business consultant, and Registered Investment Advisor, Bob will be presenting, “What I Have Learned in 35 Years in Business.”
In his presentation, Bob will be sharing 15 practical business and life skills that he uses daily in his business consulting practice, and registered investment advisory practice, helping clients to navigate their business and personal financial journeys. Not just sound advice for clients, Bob personally implemented all 15 of these ideas, in order to recover from his own personal financial reset, a financially devastating, and life changing divorce that occurred in 2010. After giving up 50% of his net worth and ½ of his retirement account, built over a period of a 25-year marriage, Bob needed to begin rebuild his finances and his life. He “took his own advice” and returned to a pre-divorce net worth level after seven years of extreme effort. Rebuilding at age 55 has its own challenges, and Bob will share his personal story and financial journey, in hopes of encouraging others going through the challenges of rebuilding from divorce. He believes that having financial success is not a destination unto itself, but rather a tool to use as one ages and moves from the accumulation phase of life, to the distribution phase of life. Bob has arrived at a new perspective on what it means to have “Wealth.” His practical teaching and coaching style, will provide business professionals working in the divorce community with a unique perspective on goal based financial planning, practical ideas for rebuilding one’s finances after a major financial setback, and how to thrive financially in volatile and turbulent times.
