This Month's Program

Liz Gayle attended Tulane University and then graduated from University of California, Davis with an AB in English in 1983. She attended and graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu in 1987. She then began her legal career at the downtown LA law firm of Harrington, Foxx, Dubrow, & Canter, defending Ford Motor Company, handling both their product liability and lemon law matters. In 1992, she joined the West Los Angeles law firm of Meyers & McConnell where she became a partner. At the firm, she defended other major product manufacturers such as Panasonic, and international property owners and management companies in premises liability actions. In 2000, after having her second child and with the insight that she had gained through representing large manufacturers, including Ford, she made the decision to open her own law firm to help California consumers pursue their Lemon Law rights against vehicle manufacturers. She has been happily and successfully getting defective vehicles bought back by vehicle manufacturers for the past 21 years. She is known throughout California as “Lemon Car Lawyer Liz”.

Liz’s lecture to our Divorce Transitions Professionals Group is entitled: “How to Help a Divorcing Couple Alleviate the Extra Stress of Owning or Leasing a ‘Lemon’ Vehicle.” She is lecturing to our group as she believes that with a basic knowledge of the Lemon Law, we could benefit our clients greatly by providing them with useful information on how to deal with their broken vehicles to help them remove a stressor from their lives during a time that they are overwhelmed by the stress of a divorce. A bone of contention for a divorcing couple may be how to allocate the two vehicles they own or lease when one of them is having substantial problems and seems to always be at the dealership for repair. For this reason and many others, having a basic knowledge and understanding of California’s Lemon Law and the rights of a person owing or leasing a defective vehicle could be very helpful to professionals who deal with divorcing couples.

Sharla Nichols Caves, CRPC®

Financial Advisor at Edward Jones

Before you can begin working toward achieving your financial goals, you must first define what’s important to yourself and your family. Does that include putting your children through college, making sure you've saved enough for retirement, leaving something for your heirs or something else? I can help you prioritize your needs and define your goals.

I have spent my entire career in the financial services industry, with my earlier years focused in commercial lending. I joined Edward Jones as a financial advisor in 2012. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in business from Kaplan University.

I grew up in a small, rural community in the central valley. I have always loved the small-town feel, which is why I love having my office in Loomis.

My husband and I have five children, which includes two wonderful daughters-in-law. Our youngest daughter is the only one left at home. Outside of work, we enjoy camping, traveling and watching our daughter play softball.

I strive to be a community leader by volunteering my time with the Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin. I have held positions on the boards of both organizations. You will typically find me participating in the local community events.

It's more than just money. You invest because you want to provide for yourself and your family. When you work with Edward Jones, you are partnering with a financial advisor who strives to understand what's important to you, uses an established process to build personalized strategies to help meet your financial goals and partners with you over time to help you stay on track. To learn more about how I can help you make sense of investing, please contact our office.
