Welcome to the Divorce Transition Professionals (DTP)

DTP was founded in 2017. Our primary Mission Statement that still holds true today is: 

Making Divorce Just a Little Bit Easier™

We believe that this can be accomplished by bringing together amazing professionals all of whom have expertise in the divorce landscape and all of whom understand what it means to collaborate.

 At each chapter meeting we bring you a top-notch speaker or program, providing on-going education, and an opportunity to network and collaborate with some of the best divorce professionals in your community. Our meetings are typically an hour. We respect that you are a busy professional and are sure to provide a compelling, productive meeting, the ultimate results of which will meet our goal of supporting folks as they go through divorce and in growing your business, concurrently.

This event is completely free to all FIRST-TIME attendees. It is an opportunity to learn more about the Divorce Transition Professionals. If you are a professional with divorce expertise, please check us out.

Mimi Donaldson

Mimi’s latest book is designed to improve the quality of how you present yourself:  Pitch Perfect: Speak to Grow Your Business in Seven Simple Steps.  She coaches individuals and sales staffs in creating and delivering their perfect marketing pitch.

For over twenty years, Mimi has captivated audiences from the Fortune 500 to the just plain fortunate.  She’s won acclaim for her rousing keynote speeches, compelling workshops, and in-house training programs.  She has shared the keynote platform with Colin Powell, Katie Couric and Maya Angelou.

Mimi has been a visiting professor at Harvard University’s Center for Public Leadership at the Kennedy School of Government. She was the “pitch coach” on ABC’s American Inventor and coached the contestants to success persuading judges and America.

An instructional designer, speaker and trainer with over 25 years experience, Mimi Donaldson has designed and presented programs in subject matter areas including public speaking, gender communications, customer relations, business writing, manager orientation, high performance team building, supervisory skills, conflict resolution, stress management, goal setting, and sexual harassment prevention.  She has conducted needs assessments, written participant and instructor materials, and trained trainers.

As an internal Human Resources trainer for Northrop Aircraft and Rockwell International Space Division, Ms. Donaldson instructed first and second level supervisors and middle and upper level managers in presentation skills.

Mimi was Director of Educational Media at Walt Disney Company.  She designed and implemented full-day instructional workshops on motivating and managing, goal-setting and problem solving techniques. She trained over 2,600 instructors and school administrators in 24 major U.S. cities.

She received a BA in Speech and Dramatic Arts from the University of Iowa.  She received her Masters degree in Education from Columbia University.

Since 1984, Ms. Donaldson has been President of her own company.  The central focus is training and development of individuals and teams within the workplace. Clients include Kaiser Permanente, Rockwell Collins, Northwestern Financial Network, and Johnson & Johnson.  Mimi constantly updates her variety of courses, most recently diversity and gender differences.

Mimi is co-author of Negotiating for Dummies, an international bestseller that has been translated into six languages and has sold over a million copies. Her second book was Bless Your Stress: It Means You’re Still Alive!  Mimi’s third book is about success and football:  Necessary Roughness:  New Rules for the Contact Sport of Life.  As a very funny, football female, Mimi uses football as a metaphor for shaking off the bad plays, or roadblocks of challenging times, and leading with perseverance and courage.

Maddie is a Financial Advisor who joined The Maize Group in 2020. After studying finance and economics at The University of Southern California, she started her career working as a Municipal Bond Analyst at Guggenheim Partners. While at Guggenheim Partners, she realized how much she missed connecting and helping others. Exploring other career options, she realized that advising was the perfect blend of her top two interests: capital markets and helping people.

Maddie’s approach to advising is based on who her clients are as individuals. Her investment recommendations are never the same from client to client because no two clients have the same set of financial circumstances. She finds joy in educating her clients and helping to find suitable solutions that fit their unique needs and wants. In Maddie’s mind, the guide to any client relationship is their financial plan. While many plans change over time, she prides herself on having timely communication with clients to ensure they always know she is looking after their assets so they can spend time living the life they love.

Maddie is an active member of her Alumni network and volunteers as a mentor at the USC Dornsife School of Economics. She also enjoys community involvement and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce. Before her career in finance, Maddie had a 15-year long career in athletics including earning a swimming scholarship to USC and qualifying for the 2016 United States Olympic Trials of Swimming in three events. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, reading, international travel, and considers herself a “foodie”. She lives in Seal Beach with her husband and black Labrador Retriever.

Neil Palache is dedicated to empowering women as is shown by his involvement in many community and business organizations such as the National Association of Women Business Owners Ventura County, Women’s Economic Ventures and the International Women’s Festivals Santa Barbara. He has also started several groups such as the Money Mastermind for Women™ and the Divorce Transition Professionals™. Neil has been married to Stacie since 1987, has three beautiful children and lives and works in Westlake Village, California.
